About Riversdell

Riversdell is our small farm on the Cacapon River at Hooks Mills, West Virginia. We are conveniently located about 30 minutes west of Winchester Virginia and about 2 hours west of Washington DC. We currently sell our farm goods and services "on the farm" only, since the government has a myriad of barriers to prevent small farmers from selling their goods in traditional retail channels.

In addition to our farming, like most all small farmers, we also have "off the farm" jobs. Kirsten is a Registered Pharmacist and does medical writing. Eric owns and operates LunaTek Consulting, providing his clients with expert computer database and web site design and programming services.

We have several aims in producing and maintaining this web site. We want to:
   - Share our increasing knowledge of the many benefits of responsibly-raised foods;
   - Provide a glimpse into life on a small family farm in the "new rurality" era;
   - Promote an understanding of the importance of sustainable local agriculture;
   - And, last but shamelessly not least, promote our wholesome farm fare,
      computer consulting, and medical writing services.
